Bequette St. Mary Mayor; Gibson on Hospital Board

Former St. Mary police chief Adam Bequette defeated incumbent Carlton Wyatt in the St. Mary mayor’s race Tuesday, 49-25.¬† Wyatt is in his third term, regaining the office when he beat incumbent Gloria Bader in a run-off election in 2020.

For the Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital Board, local businessman Brock Gibson  beat Susan Keim, wife of former hospital CEO Tom Keim, 890-589, or 59.9% to 39.7%.

In the Ste. Genevieve R-II School board race, the incumbents again won reelection. David Bova, current board president, garnered 842 votes (32%) and Geri diesel 827 votes (31.4%). Challengers Mike Wolk and Norman Vogt had 615 and 344 votes respectively.

In Ste. Genevieve, Ward 1 Alderman Patrick Fehy received 90 votes, to five write-in votes. Ward 2 alderman Bob Donovan, Ward 3 Alderman Jeff Eydmann and Ward 4 AldermanJoe Prince all ran unopposed, with one to four write-in votes cast.

In St Mary, Brenda Thompson ran unopposed in Ward 1, winning with 15 votes to three write-in votes, and Annette Hacker won in ward 2 with 4 votes to four write-in votes.

Also in St. Mary, Proposition E, which would eliminate the city collector position, passed 44-33, or 57.1% to 42.9%.
