Albert Joseph Fults

Albert Joseph Fults, age 80, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, December 7, 2023 at Mercy Hospital Jefferson in Festus.  He was born August 3, 1943 in Bonne Terre, Missouri, the son of the late Hazel Mae (nee Kuchlin) and Zeno Joseph Fults. 

He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Patricia A. (nee Roth) Fults of Festus; children David Brian Fults of Festus and Sarah Ann (Stephen) Bauer of Festus; brother Robert “Bob” (Betty) Fults of Elvins, Missouri; sister-in-law Michele (John) Kuster of Pevely and several nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his brother-in-law Marty Roth, sister-in-law Pam (David survives of Herculaneum, Missouri) Herrell.

Albert was a devoted husband and father who never forgot the things that were important to his wife and children. As a young man he attended University of Missouri Columbia for horticulture and business.  He then worked with his parents in the family business, Fults Florist in Crystal City. He was in the Missouri National Guard.  He retired from Ameren UE,  Rush Island where he was a pipefitter. He and Patti raised polled Hereford cattle and had a farm in Ste. Genevieve County for more than 40 years. After moving to Festus, he reunited with his graduating class of 1961.  He had many hobbies which included wine making. and enjoying his vintage Camaro with the top down!

He was a member of the Elks 1721 in Festus, as well as the Missouri extension and 4H club. He was active with the Historical Society of Crystal City and previously Ste. Genevieve Historical society.  He served as Ste. Genevieve commissioner and was politically driven. He will be truly missed by many.

A private family event will be held at a later date.  Memorials in Albert’s memory are preferred to the American Lung Association or the American Heart Association.
