Marcella Grace Vaughn

Marcella Grace Vaughn, age 89, of Festus, Missouri, passed away Thursday, August 24, 2023 at Crystal Oaks Nursing Center in Festus.  She was born March 5, 1934 in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri, the daughter of the late Mary Ann (nee Bonarnes) and Lawrence Schmidt, Sr.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband Thomas Edward Vaughn; siblings Christine (the late Chalmer) Meyer, Helen (the late Marion) Politte, Lawrence (Kathleen survives of Ste. Genevieve) Schmidt, Edna (the late Donald) Stolzer, and Anna Marie (the late Carol) Drury.

She is survived by her daughter Mary (Craig) Schaumburg of Crystal City, Missouri, and grandchildren Cole, Cyle and Cale Schaumburg.

Marcella had worked as a cook for Jefferson Memorial Hospital and was a member of Sacred Heart Church in Crystal City, and the American Legion Auxiliary. 

Visitation from 2:00 P.M. to 6:00 P.M. Sunday August 27, 2023 at Vineyard Funeral Home in Festus.  Funeral Mass 10:00 A.M. Monday August 28, 2023 at Sacred Heart Church, officiated by Fr. Steve Lian.  Interment in Sacred Heart Cemetery in Crystal City.  Memorials in her memory are preferred to the Alzheimer’s Association.
