Lawrence J Schmidt Jr., 86 years old, of Sainte Genevieve, MO, died Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at Mercy Hospital South in St. Louis, MO.

He was born May 24, 1937 in Ste Genevieve, MO and married to Kathleen (Naeger) Schmidt on May 25, 1963.

He is survived by Wife, Kathleen Schmidt of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Daughter, Cheryl (Gary) Martin of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Three Sons, Steven (Debbie) Schmidt of Wentzville, MO, Randy (Meg) Schmidt of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Larry (Danna) Schmidt of Saint Mary, MO; Grandchildren, Jennifer and Brooke; Lauren and Lindsey; Jessica and Ashley; Kelsey and Wade; 5 Great Grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by Five Sisters, Christine Meyer, Edna Stolzer, Helen Politte, Anna Marie Drury, Marcella Vaughn; Father, Lawrence Schmidt, Sr.; Mother, Mary Ann (Bonnarens) Schmidt.

Visitation will be at Church of Ste. Genevieve in Sainte Genevieve, MO on Saturday, September 2, 2023 from 9:00 am till 11:00 am.

Service will be at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Saturday, September 2, 2023 at 11:00 am.

The Clergy will be .

Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, MO with full military honors.

He was a member of Am. Legion post 150 and Church of Ste. Genevieve.  Larry was a successful and active farmer for most of his 86 years. He loved spending time tending his cattle and visiting with his family – especially his grand and great grandchildren. He had many friends in the community and he LOVED country music, making his rounds in several different local bands. One of his favorite things to do was to perform for residents of the local senior care center.
