Firemen work to extinguish a fire at 529 Audubon Street last Thursday afternoon.

A fire last Thursday did heavy damage to one room of a house at 529 Audubon Street.
Fire Chief Kenny Steiger said that oa
Steiger said the fire appeared accidental, possibly from an unattended candle. He said a call was initially made to bring in more manpower, due to the heat. The call was cancelled before trucks from the second alarm arrived, however, with the fire under control.
