Marilyn M. Burgert, 91 years old, of Sainte Genevieve, MO, died Friday, June 16, 2023 at Ste. Genevieve Care Center in Sainte Genevieve, MO.

She was born May 27, 1932 in Weingarten, MO and was married to John Burgert on February 14, 1953.

She is survived by Two Daughters, Rebecca “Becky” (Kenneth) Fernandez of Hernando, MS, Elizabeth “Liz” (Thomas) Kertz of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Three Grandsons, Ryan Renna, Eric Renna, Bryan (Hannah) Kertz; Granddaughter, Allison (Kurt) Palos; Three Sisters, Julietta “Tootie” Flieg of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Shirley Kern of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Mary (Stanley) Hurst of Saint Mary, MO; Brother, Tony (Betty) Ritter of Ozora, MO; Great Grandchildren, John and Harrison Palos and Miriam Kertz.

She was preceded in death by Father, Harry Ritter; Mother, Irma Ritter; Husband, John F. Burgert; Two Brother-in-laws, Glennon “Bootie” Flieg and Gus Kern.

Visitation was at Church of Ste. Genevieve in Sainte Genevieve, MO on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 from 9:30 am till 11:00 am. 

Service was at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Tuesday, June 20, 2023 at 11:00 am.

The Clergy was Rev. Edward Nemeth.

Burial at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, MO.

Memorials can be made to Ste. Genevieve Care Center Activities Fund.

She was a member of Ste. Genevieve Golf Club, Girl Scout Leader for Troop 3122.  Marilyn loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.  She loved to garden, golf, and play cards with family and friends, most importantly the last two years she became a part of a special family at the Ste. Gen. Care Center, a place where she called home.
