Rita M Brumfield, 77 years old, of Sainte Genevieve, MO, died Sunday, June 4, 2023 at her home in Sainte Genevieve, MO.

She was born May 29, 1946 in St Louis, MO and was married to Jim Brumfield on May 20, 1967.

She is survived by Husband, Jim Brumfield of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Two Daughters, Terri (Manny) Thomas of Saint Mary, MO, Jami (Scott) Drury of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Son, Andrew Brumfield of Clever, MO; Three Sisters, Ruthie (Thomas) Schweiss of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Margie (Joe) Shirey of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Marilyn (Tom) Mahler of Denver, CO; Brother, Clarence (Victoria) Meyer of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Brother-in-law, David (Peggy) Hollabaugh; Grandchildren, Alexander (Allison) Herzog, Maria Herzog, Samantha Schnabel, Courtney (Adam) Ruessler, Matthew (Hannah) Drury, Trevor Drury; Great-Grandchildren, Bryce and Brody, Addison and Cameron.

She was preceded in death by Father, Richard Meyer; Mother, Willa Meyer; Sister, Elaine Hollabaugh.

Visitation was at Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, MO on Monday, June 12, 2023 and Tuesday, June 13, 2023.

Service was at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Tuesday, June 13, 2023 at 10:00 am.

The Clergy was Rev. Edward Nemeth.

Burial was at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, MO.

Rita was a nurse for 54 years and retired from Sainte Genevieve County Memorial Hospital in 2021. In 2015, she received the Nurse Leader Legacy Award from the Missouri Organization of Nurse Leaders. She was an avid Cardinals baseball fan and enjoyed going to the Spring Training for several years. Rita loved going to the casinos and scratch off tickets. She enjoyed traveling, spending time outside, particularly in her flower beds and on her family’s farm.
