The Milice de Ste. Genevieve leads the Promenade down Merchant Street to open the French Heritage Festival. More photos will appear in the June 21 edition.
Pleasant weather led to good crowds at the annual French Heritage Festival last Saturday.
The festival began with music by Patti Naeger’s chanteurs and a salute fired by the Milice de Ste. Genevieve, followed by the Promenade down Merchant Street.
Lots of activities were on tap throughout the day, including live music, period reenactors, food vendors and an Audubon Bird Walk.
The Foundation for Restoration of Ste. Genevieve, Inc. puts on the event, with additional funding provided by the Ste. Genevieve Municipal Band Grant Program, Ste. Genevieve County Community Foundation and Citizens Electric Corporation.
