Wayne  Leon Drake, 52 years old, of Perryville, MO, died Monday, May 29, 2023 at his residence in Perryville, MO under hospice care.

He was born July 26, 1970 in Peoria, IL, and was married to Jan (Davis) Drake on January 7, 2007.

He is survived by Father, Alfred Eugene Drake; Mother, Sharon Jean Rosen; Wife, Jan Drake of Perryville, MO; Four Daughters, Dawn (Joe) Davis of Perryville, MO, Misty (Jeremy) Boyet of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Becca (Billy) Schanda of Perryville, MO, Amy Gibbar of Perryville, MO; Son, Allen Gibbar of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Two Brothers, Alfred (Jodi) Drake of FL, Frank (Kristi) Drake of FL; Three Sisters, Charlotte Shoen of FL, Cheryl (Kevin) Agne of MO, Karen (Ronnie) Hale of MO; Five Sister-in-laws, Sharon Grass, Linda (Donnie) Rottler, Debbie (Larry) Viox, Kathy (Keith) Trapp, Nancy Davis; Brother-in-law, Jay (Charlotte) Davis; Eleven Grandchildren; Many nieces and nephews

He was preceded in death by Son, Scott Gibbar, Jr.; Father-in-law, George (Lillian) Davis; Three Brother-in-laws, Dave  Grass, Sr., Ken Davis, Allen Davis; Nephew, David Grass, Jr.; Niece, Rachelle Rehm; Two Stepdads, Louie Eddy and Frank Rosen; Grandmother, Maragerite Lewis.

Visitation was at Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, MO on Thursday, June 1, 2023 and Friday, June 2, 2023.

Service was at Basler Funeral Home on Friday, June 2, 2023 at 10:00 am.

The Clergy was Brother Brooks.

Burial followed at Crestlawn Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, MO.

He was a member of DAV in Florida. Wayne was oftentimes called “Wino” by his dad and “Slop-dog #1” by others. Wayne was a Yankees baseball fan and loved being with his grandkids. He could talk on the phone for hours with his mother while enjoying his beer. If he couldn’t pick on his kids, he wasn’t happy.
