5 Dragons place at women’s tourney

IMPERIAL, Mo. — Only five Dragons competed for the Ste. Genevieve girls’ wrestling team at the 35-team, two-state Seckman Women’s Tournament at Seckman High Saturday (Jan. 28).
All five placed third or fourth place in their respective weight brackets. Some divisions had bracket competitions, while others grappled in round-robin

Addison Gieler (125 pounds) and Ragan Picou (135) both took third place.
Linley Wehner (115), Hollyn Zangaro (120) and Katlynn Lay (130) each took fourth place.
Wehner won her first three matches. Every girl won at least one match.

Ste. Genevieve’s quad-match at Notre Dame (Cape Girardeau) that included Herculaneum and De Soto scheduled for last Tuesday was postponed with no date set to reschedule.
