Warriors Finish 2-2 At Ste. Gen Duals

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.  —  Valle Catholic went 2-2 at the Ste. Gen Duals on Saturday (1.7) to take third place.

The Warriors defeated Mehlville 45-24 and Dexter Bearcats 60-24, but lost to the Windsor Owls 45-24.

The host Dragons swept the duals tournament.

Dragons 65, Warriors 6

The Warriors had no answer for Ste. Genevieve as both clubs wrapped up the Ste. Gen Duals. They lost the first eight matches.

Noah Elbert claimed the only victory via pinfall.

Warriors 60, Dexter 24

Valle Catholic took advantage of seven forfeit victories to prevail over the Bearcats in this competition at the Ste. Gen Duals tournament Saturday afternoon.

The dual started at the 126-pound division.

Conner Clanton (126), Wil Kuehn (138) and Kalan Fallert (120) each won by pinfall.

Gavyn Joggerst (150), Jayce Bales (165), Tucker Bertrand (175), Noah Elbert (215), Espn Reed (285), Kaden Gegg (106) and Easton Koetting (113) each won by forfeit.

Windsor 45, Warriors 24

Valle Catholic lost five straight matches and that was enough to for the Owls to win at the Ste. Gen Duals Saturday morning.

The dual started at the 120-pound division.

Gavyn Joggerst (150) and Easton Koetting (113) both won by pinfalls.

Heavyweight Espn Reed (285) and Kaden Gegg (106) both won by decisions.

Wil Kuehn won by forfeit.

The Owls now are head coach by former Warriors’ head coach Jake Gegg, a former all-state wrestler for Ste. Genevieve.

Warriors 45, Mehlville 24

Valle Catholic opened up the Ste. Genevieve Duals tournament with a victory over the Panthers Saturday morning.

The Warriors took advantage of six forfeit victories. The dual started at the 106-pound division.

Tucker Bertrand (175) had the only pin victory. Gavyn Joggerst won his match in overtime 5-4

Kaden Gegg (106), Kalan Fallert (120), Conner Clanton (126), Wil Kuehn (138), Jayce Bales (165) and Jacob Calbreath (215) each won by forfeit.

Warriors 58, Hancock 6

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.  —  Valle Catholic dominated the Tigers with four pins and five forfeits and never looked back Wednesday (1.4) in a tri-match that also included the Herculaneum Black Cats.

Conner Clanton (132-pound division), Gavyn Joggerst (150), Tucker Bertrand (175) and Espn Reed each won by pinfall for the Warriors.

Wil Kuehn (144) won his match by major decision.

Easton Koetting (113), Kalan Fallert (120), Jayce Bales (165), Noah Elbert (215) and Kaden Gegg (106) each won by forfeit.

Warriors 40, Herky 24

STE. GENEVIEVE, Mo.  —  Valle Catholic got four pinfall victories spread throughout the dual and rolled over the Black Cats at the tri-match that also included the Hancock Tigers last Wednesday (1.4).

Conner Clanton (138-pound division), Gavyn Joggerst (150), Tucker Bertrand (175) and Kaden Gegg (106) each won by pins.

Kalan Fallert (120), Joseph Flieg (132) and Noah Elbert (215) each won by decisions.

Easton Koetting (113) won by forfeit.

NEXT

The Warriors are busy this week. They visited Washington to face Catholic-school rival St. Francis Borga this past Monday (1.9).

They then visit Park Hills Central Tuesday (1.10), and host a quad-meet Thursday (1.12) with Herculaneum, Festus and Potosi on Thursday.
