HILLSBORO, Mo. — Ste. Genevieve won two matches by pinfall and another by forfeit, but the Hawks prevailed anyway last Wednesday (1.4) at HHS.
There were six double forfeits — including the first three weight divisions — to make for the low-scoring dual.
The Dragons trailed 15-0 from the start.
Addison Geiler pinned Ava Culley in one minute at the 130-pound match.
Katlynn Lay (135) pinned Ella Bingham in two minutes, which cut it to 15-12.
Ste. Genevieve would lose to more matches before Liliana Hastings later won via forfeit two wrap up the dual.
The Dragons’ girls’ and boys’ squads head to Jackson Wednesday (1.11) at 6 p.m. in a tri-match with Sikeston, then both compete in the St. Charles High tournament.
