STE. GENEVIEVE – Thomas Franklin Huie, of Ste. Genevieve, passed away December 14, 2022, at Parkland Health Center at the age of 86. He was born in Sprott, Missouri, on March 2, 1936, to Frank and Venus (Short) Huie.
Tom is survived by his wife of 64 years, Bonnie Jean (DaVault) Huie of Ste. Genevieve, his son, David Wayne (Leisa) Huie of St. Louis, his granddaughter, Erin Huie of Creve Coeur, his sister, Mary Kocher of Farmington, four nephews and their wives, numerous great nieces and great nephews, and a host of friends.
Tom was preceded in death by his parents, Frank and Venus (Short) Huie, his grandson, Ryan Thomas Huie, his brother-in-law, Donald Kocher, and his mother-in-law, Connie DaVault.
Tom retired from Fred Weber as a heavy equipment operator after 30 years of service. He was a member of Hoisting Engineers Local 513 for 55 years. He was a proud Korean War veteran of the United States Army. He was a longtime active member of Genevieve Baptist Church where he served as Sunday School Superintendent and Senior Men’s teacher. He was a man of many hobbies and talents especially woodworking.
A visitation will be held on Sunday, December 18, 2022, from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Cozean Memorial Chapel. Visitation will resume on Monday, December 19, from 7:00 a.m. until time of service at 10:00 a.m. in the Cozean chapel officiated by Pastor Fred Killian. Interment to follow at Genevieve Baptist Cemetery. Memorial donations, if desired, may be made to the Genevieve Baptist Church or the Genevieve Baptist Cemetery.
