The night before, Valle Catholic had no ace serves. This time they had 10 aces.

Unfortunately, the end result was the same. Another undefeated team, another three-set loss despite seven players with an ace on the short night on Thursday, Sept. 15 at SLHS.

The Warriors (4-8) posted final tallies of 14, 21 and 23, thus suffering their third straight loss and fourth in the last five matches.

The two Christian private schools previously met in the Dig for Life Tournament a week earlier with Saxony Lutheran (11-0-1) winning that one as well.

The Warriors’ main back line again came under attack, but the trio handled it.

Makayla Joggerst led in several categories, including 10 service receptions. She also had three points and two aces, six kills, six digs and 10 receptions.

Ade Weiler had seven kills, 12 digs and 20 receptions.

Libero Addi Donze had 11 digs and 26 receptions.

Kristen Drury had seven points with an ace and 10 assists.

Claire Drury added five points with two aces, 18 assists and six digs.

Abree Zipprich had three points with two aces and four digs. Macy Wolk had two aces and six kills.

Ava Bauman had an ace and four digs.

Saxony has not gone more than three sets in each of its matches so far this season.

Senior Josey Wohlers patrolled the net with 18 blocks and 10 kills. Junior Anna Muehler had 14 digs. Senior Katie Swain had 12 digs. Sophomore Isabel Brown had 22 assists.

Jackson 3, Warriors 0

After serving up five to seven aces over six matches at the Dig for Life Tournament, Valle Catholic struggled to have such luck against unbeaten area power Jackson a few nights later on Monday, Sept. 12.

The Warriors (4-7) who had no ace serves, were swept in three sets at JHS to suffer their second straight loss as points were hard to come by early on. They posted final scores of 12, 13 and 21 in the loss.

Ade Weiler, Makayla Joggerst and libero Addi Donze each were under attack all night

Donze had 20 service receptions and 12 digs. Weiler had 17 receptions and 12 digs, plus three points and four kills. Joggerst had three points, six kills, four assists and 17 receptions.

Claire Drury had five points, eight assists and seven digs. Macy Wolk had six kills and five digs.

Ava Bauman had four kills. Kristen Drury had eight assists and six digs.

Abree Zipprich added three assists and three digs.

The Indians improved to 6-0 on the season at the time.
