John Wesley Jokerst

John Wesley Jokerst, age 73, of St Louis, Missouri passed away on Friday, July 29, 2022. John was born March 10, 1949 to Viola M. Jokerst (nee Fallert) and Adrian J. Jokerst.

John is survived by his sons, Jason Jokerst (Rachel) and Jonathan Jokerst; his siblings,  Ken Jokerst (Wilma), Phyllis Jokerst and Marilyn Jokerst; his grandchildren, Connor Jokerst, Weston Jokerst, Hayden Jokerst and Tatum Jokerst, his longtime friend Jim Beaman and he is also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins and dear friends.

John was preceded in death by his parents Adrian J. Jokerst and Viola M. Jokerst (nee Fallert) and his sister Marjorie Jokerst.

As a proud Vietnam War Marine veteran, John was always faithful to his family. He had a deep love for his parents, siblings, children, and grandchildren. He was a very giving man, always thoughtful of both family and friends alike. John was an avid St. Louis sports fan, especially the Cardinals. He cherished taking his son and later his grandchildren to baseball games. He was also an avid news junkie. He was well informed of current events and never short of opinions.    

A public visitation for John will be held Friday, August 12, 2022 from 9:30 AM to 11:00 AM at Hoffmeister South County Chapel, 1515 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, MO 63125 with a celebration of life will occur at 11:00 AM. A committal service will follow at Jefferson Barracks National Cemetery, 2900 Sheridan, Jefferson Barracks, MO 63125, with military honors provided by VFW Post 2210.
