Wallace “Gump” Roth

Wallace “Gump” Roth, 88 years old, of St. Louis, MO, died Thursday, May 5, 2022.  He was born on August 27, 1933 to Edmond and Irene (Zahner) Roth of Perryville, MO.  He was married to Mary Meredith on July 18, 1959.

He is survived by his loving wife of 62 years, Mary Roth of St. Louis; children Tina (Ron) Gegg, Ann (Dan) Okenfuss, Mike (Trish Basler) Roth, all of St. Louis, Joan (Paul) Jett of O’Fallon, MO.

Grandchildren Kyle (Tori), Kirsten, Clay Gegg; Dylan, Brielle Okenfuss; Hannah (Jamieson) Crane; Mackenzie, Allison, Cassidy, Haley Roth; Brennan, Carson, Dorian, Addison Jett.  Great grandchildren Troy, Raelyn, Kahlia.

Visitation:  Kutis Funeral Home, 5255 Lemay Ferry Road, St. Louis, Sunday, May 15, 2022 from 2:00 – 6:00 p.m. with funeral mass on Monday, May 16, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Catholic Church, 4900 Ringer Road, St. Louis.

Gump was a member of St. Margaret Mary Alacoque Parish, VFW, American Legion, and Knights of Columbus.

Gump was a loving husband, father and grandfather whose biggest enjoyment was celebrating the successes of his children and grandchildren.  He was very active in the Ste. Genevieve community for many years with involvement in many civic and sporting organizations.  Gump’s heart was always with the Valle Warriors – “Once a Warrior, Always a Warrior”.
