Ste. Genevieve freshman Kale Clements broke the school record in the girls’ 400-meter dash as the top highlight for SGHS at the Mineral Area Activities Association conference track and field meet on a gorgeous Friday evening at Farmington High despite a little drizzle.

Clements outran the 400m competition that placed five seniors in the top eight.

Clements joined fellow freshman Hollyn Zangaro and senior Abby Moore as the three won two gold medals apiece, thus becoming double conference champions on the night.

Those three ladies were part of five total SGHS tracksters to claim conference gold as Lady Dragons freshman Sadie Greminger and Dragons senior Corey Simmons II took home their share of the MAAA’s highest honors as well.
