Chamber Honors Flieg, McCarty, Common Grounds

Last Friday night marked the Ste. Genevieve Chamber Of Commerce’s 98th Annual Gala, at the DuBourg Centre.
Two figures long active in the community were honored, along with an innovative business establishment.
Dr. Julie Flieg, superintendent of R-II Schools, received the Lifetime Achievement Award. She has been with the district since 1996.

Jeff McCarty received the Community Service Award. Recently retired as a Ste. Genevieve County deputy, McCarty led the local DARE program for years and was highly visible in the community.
Meanwhile, Common Grounds Coffee House was honored as the Small Business of the Year.
Common Grounds, which opened in 2019 at Third and Merchant, provides special needs individuals in the county with job and life skills and growth opportunities.
