The Valle Catholic softball team rebounded from its season-opening loss with a dominant 21-1 victory win over conference rival Bismarck Indians last Wednesday night at Challenger Field. They needed only two innings to prevail.

Trailing 1-0 by mid-first inning, the host Warriors (1-1, 1-1 MAAA) plated 12 runs in the bottom of the frame and never looked back. They added nine runs in the second inning to eventually closed the game via the 15-run mercy rule as they did not need to bat again in third.

Valle batted around in both innings. Sophomore Ade Weiler and Emily Flieg both had three hits.

Ade Weiler was a triple shy of hitting for the cycle as she had an inside-the-park home run and a double. She also drove in six runs total, while scoring three runs herself, plus was hit by a pitch and stole a base.

Flieg was 3 for 3 with a double, four RBI and four runs scored. Catcher Nicole Gegg had two hits with a double, stolen base and three runs.
