Arthur J. Meyer, 86 years old, of Sainte Genevieve, MO, died Sunday, February 27, 2022 at Ste. Gen. Co. Memorial Hospital in Sainte Genevieve, MO.

He was born July 7, 1935 in Ste. Genevieve, MO and was married to Viola (Kemper) Meyer on January 30, 1960.

He is survive by Wife, Viola Meyer of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Three Daughters, Audrey (John) Gordon of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Jill (Rick) Gettinger of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Paula (Brad) Schilly of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Two Sisters, Erline Martin of Sainte Genevieve, MO, Marilyn Figge of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Eight Grandchildren, Shane (Sara) Gordon, Travis (Amanda) Gordon, Jesse (Tiffany) Gettinger, Allison (Alex) Herzog, Tyler Gettinger, Devin Dukeman, Derek Dukeman, Haley (Korey) LaHay; Seven Great Grandchildren

He was preceded in death by Son, Daniel Meyer; Father, Leo T. Meyer; Mother, Erline (Lalumondier) Meyer; Four Brothers, Leo A. Meyer, Albert Meyer, Ervin Meyer, Donnie Meyer.

Visitation will be at Basler Funeral Home in Sainte Genevieve, MO on Thursday, March 3, 2022 from 4:00 pm till 8:00 pm and Friday, March 4, 2022 from 8:00 am till 9:45 am.

Service will be at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Friday, March 4, 2022 at 10:00 am.

The Clergy will be Rev. Mitchell Baer.

Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery in Sainte Genevieve, MO

Memorials can be made to Valle Schools.

He was a member of Church of Ste. Genevieve, Knights of Columbus 1037 & St. Mary CMA.  Art Worked at the Ste. Gen. Herald for 52 years, he enjoyed playing the stand up bass in several local and family bands including “Al and his Pals”.  Most of all Art was the best grandfather, father and husband and enjoyed spending time with his family at home and the lake.
