In the schools: VCMS Speech Fares Well

ST. LOUIS — The Valle Catholic Middle School speech team participated in the Bellarmine speech meet at St. Margaret Mary Alacoque.
In speech meets, students from fifth through eighth grade develop and improve their public speaking skills by memorizing and performing material.
Categories are: humorous, series and duet categories.
Ribbons are awarded to participants based on the total score from two judges.
A perfect score of 30 points earns a gold ribbon, 27-29 a blue ribbon and 22-26 a red ribbon.
Isaac Eftink earned a red ribbon for “The Cat’s Meow” by Robert L. Crowe in the humorous solo category.
Mackenzie Buchheit received a blue ribbon for “Who Am I” by Cheri Jensen in the serious solo division.
Drake Meyer and Alaric Drost combined for a humorous duet presentation, “A Grave Situation,” by Ken Bradbury.
This marked the first speech competition of the season for Valle Catholic.
