In the schools: SGMS students reach out to Morocco

Dr. Rhett Oldham’s eighth-grade world history class was invited to participate in a virtual discussion on global citizenship with university students from Morocco. The discussion topic was “What Does It Mean to be a Global Citizen and An American?” with Dr. Mohamed Bettaoui’s English class at Hasson I University in Settat, Morocco, a country located in northwest Africa. Students engaged in the discussion using the Zoom teleconferencing application, and there also was a question time. The questions provoked plenty of thought amongst everyone. (PHOTO COURTESY STE.
