From staff reports

Ste. Genevieve Middle School seventh-grader Cailin Hallin was recognized in the second annual Bill of Rights Day student art contest.

Art instructor Becky Keim’s Art I and Art II students participated in the contest this year — with the theme “The Importance of the Bill of Rights.”

Hallin’s artwork displayed images of the waving flag, Statue of Liberty, the Liberty Bell, the White House, an eagle, fireworks and the Pledge of Allegiance.

She earned a runner-up prize and a $50 gift card.

Students from 10 states participated in the contest, with more than 300 entries submitted.
