Academics: Rotary Honors Pair Of Basler Students

Ste. Genevieve High School’s Elizabeth Basler and Justin Basler from Valle Catholic High School were named Rotary students of the month for December.
Elizabeth Basler’s scholastic honors are being ranked in the top 12 percent of her class, earning “A” honor roll each semester.
Elizabeth Basler received the designation of Summa Cum Laude during the 2020-21 school year. She is the daughter of James and Linda Basler.
She has been involved in student council, National Honor Society, Spirit Club, Friends and Students Against Destructive Decisions (SADD).
Elizabeth Basler has been the on the Dragon volleyball team all four years, served as boys’ basketball team manager and was chosen for a leadership conference — but couldn’t attend due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
Elizabeth Basler works at two locations, Bloomsdale Family Fun Farm and River Rapids Waterpark.
She plans on attending Missouri State University in Springfield, working toward earning a bachelor’s degree in nursing.
Justin Basler is noted for his computer skills and typing accuracy (78 words per minute at 98 percent accuracy).
This past year, Justin Basler served as Chief Touchdown on the Homecoming Court. He has received high honors all throughout high school.
In addition, Justin Basler has been a member of Valle’s Book Club, Choir Band and leader of the Fun Fanatics Club.
For work experience, Justin Basler has been employed at River Rapids Waterpark in both admissions and concessions.
Justin is the son of Dave and Tammy Basler.
