BLOOMSDALE — Bloomsdale Elementary School fifth-grade students in Jaclyn Oechsner’s class recently had their first first-ever book tasting event.
The classroom was set up café-style, with students discussing books they have read while enjoying hot chocolate.
Students, earlier this year, had the opportunity to choose a book to read from a list Oechsner provided.
Books included the following titles, “Wings of Fire” by Tui T. Sutherland, “The Wild Robot” by Peter Brown and “The Lightning Thief” by Rick Riordan.
During the book tasting, students walked around the classroom and visited their classmates visual reports.
The school district said this program helped foster students toward reading additional books.
