Academics: Kiefer, Weibrecht Rotary’s Best

Ste. Genevieve High School’s Christian Kiefer and Hailey Weibrecht from Valle Catholic High School have been chosen Rotary students of the month for November.

Kiefer has been ranked in the top-10 percent of his class, earning “A” honor roll each semester. 

He earned the designation of Summa Cum Laude during the 2020-21 school year.

At SGHS, Kiefer has been active in the student council, National Honor Society, French Club, Mentors and he’s the president of FRIENDS, a group that works to include all students in activities.

This past summer, Kiefer was selected to attend the Missouri Association of School Councils Leadership Camp.

Kiefer volunteers at Heavenly Hope. He also works at Baetje Farms and volunteers for school-related activities. He enjoys go-kart racing. 

Weibrecht had perfect attendance during the 2019-20 school year, and she was top-20 in the Class of 2022.

She has been an academic all-state athlete for three years, and a two-time state medalist in both track and field and volleyball.

In addition to competing for Valle Catholic, Weibrecht is a member of the Stingrays’ AAU summer swimming program. She is a three-time AAU Junior Olympic qualifier.

Weibrecht is in the A-plus program, Interact Club secretary and has served as student ambassador the past two years.

In work experience, Weibrecht is a front-store employee and cook at Dairy Queen. She also serves as a swim lesson instructor at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center.

Kiefer is the son of Dewayne and Jennifer Kiefer. Christian plans on attending a four-university to pursue a degree in biochemistry while being enlisted in the U.S. Navy reserves as a hospital corpsman.

Weibrecht is the daughter of Brian and Nichole Weibrecht. Hailey plans on attending a community college and study exercise science, nutrition and business management. She hopes to continue playing volleyball on the college level.
