College running: MAC’s St. Clair places 12th in nation

MILLEDGEVILLE, Ga. — Former Ste. Genevieve High School standout runner Devin St. Clair finished 12th overall at the NJCAA Division III national men’s cross country meet on Saturday at Council Farms.

St. Clair helped Mineral Area College to a second-place team finish with 97 points, six more than first-time national champion Joliet Junior College (Ill.).

He recorded a time of 27:22.73 over an 8,000-meter course. 

Jacob Arnold and Kyle Vinyard produced top-10 finishes for Mineral Area in fifth and sixth spot, respectively, with times of 26:42.52 and 26:57.37.

On the women’s side, Mineral Area was fourth with 131 points — paced by Haley Hernandez in 11th (20:59.40). The women run 5,000 meters like in high school.
