The Ste. Genevieve High School girls’ golf team finished the regular season with a couple of matches versus Cape Central on Monday and Tuesday, Oct. 4-5.
For the first time in her career, senior Regean Naeger earned medalist honors during a triangular match on Oct. 4 — which also featured nearby Farmington.
Naeger’s performance, shooting 46, helped the Dragons to a composite score of 197 — one of the Dragons’ best totals of the season.
“Regean was the happiest I’ve ever seen her on the course,” Ste. Genevieve head coach Rachel McDaniel said. “She fed off the Senior Night vibe. Regean was chipping and putting well, and that’s what made the difference.”
This was the type of effort McDaniel was looking for from Naeger all season long, and she delivered.
Ava Meyer turned in the Dragons’ low score (47) in a dual versus Cape Central from Oct. 5. Ste. Genevieve topped Cape Central, 217-229.
“It was exciting to see it all come together for this team at the end of the season,” McDaniel said.
