Last year, Valle Catholic’s Homecoming theme was astronomical – but, the scene will be shifting in 2021.
Valle Catholic has chosen a nautical style, with the aptly named “Under the Sea” beginning today (Wednesday).
There will be a pep rally at 6 p.m. tonight at Father John Dempsey Field. Enjoy a complimentary hot dog, potato chips and water.
The rally begins at 6:30 p.m., with classes from the past recognized. There will be fun and games – and a concluding bonfire weather permitting.
In addition to the rally, there also will be a chili cook-off. Drop off your recipe at 6:15 p.m. in the field house lobby. Winners will be announced during the rally.
The Homecoming parade will begin at 4:30 p.m. Friday, from the Valle Catholic Desert to the football field.
Valle Catholic will play Jefferson R-7 at 7 p.m. The Warriors defeated the Blue Jays, 47-13, last year in rural Festus.
Events conclude on Saturday, with a special Homecoming Mass at 5 p.m. – followed by a dance at 7 p.m. in the school gymnasium.
Camryn Basler, a 2020 state medalist from the cross country team, has been chosen as the Homecoming Queen. She is the daughter of Chris and Tina Basler.
Justin Basler has been named Chief Touchdown, the son of David and Tammy Basler.
Samantha Loida, a three-sport athlete at Valle, has been named Miss Valle. Loida is the daughter of Mike and Cindy Loida.
Rachel Blum is the senior class attendant, with Luke McClure as her escort. Blum is the daughter of Clayton and Gina Blum. McClure is the son of Rich and Colleen McClure.
