Local Digest: Youth Wrestling Sign-Ups Are Next Week

The Ste. Genevieve Youth Wrestling Team will have a five-week county-wide program to introduce boys and girls to the sport of wrestling.
This league will be open to any athlete from kindergarten to sixth grade (5- to 12-year-olds) beginning Monday, Oct. 18 and concluding Sunday, Nov. 21.
The first two week, practices will be conducted on both Mondays and Tuesdays, then divide into teams and team practices with live dual meets on Thursdays the final three weeks.
The league will end with a tournament from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Sunday, Nov. 21.
Sign-ups will take place in the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center’s Progress Sports Complex. The community center serves as the chief program sponsor.
Wrestlers must be present to sign up as they will be asked to weigh in — no exceptions.
The cost is $40, which is due at the sign-up. Checks are made payable to: Ste. Genevieve Youth Wrestling Club.
