FREDERICKTOWN — The Ste. Genevieve High School football team scored six TD in the opening quarter during Friday’s 55-33 victory over Fredericktown at Blackcat Stadium.

All six of the Dragons’ first-quarter TD were on explosive plays — a pair of long Austin McBride runs, a couple of pick-six interception returns and that familiar Aiden-Boyer-to-Zach-Boyer connection twice.

“It was truly a display of all the hard work these players have put in all season,” said Ste. Genevieve first-year head coach Jay Pope. “We will need to continue working, and stay the course so we are able to produce those same results in big games.”

Pope said those explosive plays set the tone, and he was able to rest the varsity unit for the second half.

Ste. Genevieve amassed 418 total yards on offense, and Aiden Trollinger had 12 tackle points to lead the defense.
