Jess Willard Steele

Jess Willard Steele, 77, of Perryville, Missouri passed away Tuesday, September 14, 2021 at his residence.

He was born April 14, 1944 in Steeleville, IL to Jess Willard and Alvina (Weaver) Steele.

He and Sharon K. Boone were married on June 20, 1984 in Carlinville, IL. She survives in Perryville.

Jesse was a Heavy Equipment Operator for Tower Rock Stone in Ste. Genevieve. He was a US Army Veteran. He was a member of St. John’s Lutheran Church in Chester, IL. and V.F.W. #1301 in Marion, IL.

Survivors include five sons, Darryl (Tina) Steele of Perryville, MO, Norman (Sherry) Galbraith of Perryville, MO, Jesse A. Steele of Perryville, MO, Floyd Steele of St. Clair, MO, Ayden Steele of Potosi, MO; five daughters, Jolene Jundt of Perryville, MO, Brooklyn Steele of Potosi, MO, Ladina (William) Steele of Potosi, MO, Amy Steele of Arnold, MO, Ashley Steele of Rolla, MO; brother, Kenny Ray Steele of Marion, IL; five sisters, Betty Lou Dutton of Troy, MO, Ethel Cripps of Murphysboro, IL, Luetta (Syl) Dobbins of Irvington, IL, Loretta May Belcher of Murphysboro, IL, Mary Kay Steele of Murphysboro, IL; twenty-two grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents, great granddaughter, Mariah Schwent and sister, Roseanne Gretzmacher.

Visitation will be from 4:00 pm to 8:00 pm on Sunday, September 19, 2021 and 8:00 am to 1:00 pm on Monday, September 20, 2021 at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville.

Funeral Service will be at 1:00 pm Monday, September 20, 2021 at Ford and Young Funeral Home in Perryville with Rev. Benjamin Chapman officiating.

Burial will be at Home Cemetery in Perryville with Military Honors provided by V.F.W. Post 4282 and Delta Team.

Memorial contributions may be given to Crown Hospice.
