SGMS Seasons Are Underway

The Ste. Genevieve Middle School sports season began on Saturday with the cross country team competing at the Arcadia Valley Invitational in Ironton.

Dragon runners continue the season on Saturday at the Festus Bowles Invitational in West City Park.

The team will play host to an invitational next Wednesday, Sept. 21, at Pere Marquette Park.

Ste. Genevieve R-II high school principal Dr. John Boyd reported there will be two races, with the first one slated for 4:15 p.m.

The Dragon seventh- and eighth-grade volleyball teams opened the season yesterday at Potosi. The team travels to Ironton Thursday for matches versus Arcadia Valley.

The 34th Annual Ste. Genevieve eighth-grade tournament will take place at 9 a.m. on Saturday in both Peggy J. Johnson Gymnasium and the new middle school gym.

Ste. Genevieve seventh- and eighth-grade football begin the season at 5 p.m. tomorrow at DeSoto.
