Bloomsdale Bank Team Nabs Rotary Title

Bloomsdale Bank was the big winner at the 16th Annual Rotary Club of Ste. Genevieve Tournament on Friday, Aug. 27.

The Bloomsdale Bank team featured Rotarian Brian Keim plus Matthias Wegmann, Todd Obergoenner and Brad Lipp.

The quartet fired a 20-under 52, one stroke better than two other teams in the championship flight.

Loida Family Dentistry and Zahner & Associates were involved in a scorecard playoff for second place, with Zahner coming out on top.

Both teams carded 53s.

Zahner & Associates featured the foursome of Mike Zahner, Colin Zahner, Waylon Sparkman and Gabe Hotop.

The Loida Family Dentistry team was comprised of Greg Hilbert, Gregg Ladd, Brad Arnold and Jeff Wehner.

In the “A” Flight, the Guys and Dolls team consisting of Deb McKlin, Skip Brock, Deb Reidler and John Reidler took first with a 10-under 62.

The St. Francois County Rotary Club foursome of Jerry Weems, Kevin Thurman, Chris Morrison and Joe Gilgour also fired a 62 — but placed second.

The “Here Comes The Judge” quartet was third (65), featuring Tim Inman, Wayne Williams, David Bova and Ron Inman.

Money raised from the tournament benefits scholarships at both Ste. Genevieve and Valle Catholic High Schools, and contributes to other various nonprofit entities in the community.

Keim reported the 2022 tournament has been bumped up to May.
