Mid America Barnwood Garners Championship

ZELL — A foursome representing Mid America Barnwood won the Ste. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce Tournament on Friday, Aug. 20 at Ste. Genevieve Golf Club.
The quartet of Greg Hilbert, Greg Ladd, Brad Arnold and Clay Stoll won with an 18-under par 54, two strokes better than two other teams.
Bloomsdale Bank and Ste. Genevieve Vision Center were next, tied for second.
The Bloomsdale Bank team consisted of Brian Keim, Tom Keim, Lonnie Wolk and Matt Wegmann, with Ste. Genevieve Vision Center’s foursome Clint Wolk, Bryan Browne, R.J. Clements and Craig Drury.
Tower Dock No. 2 — Eric Osterhage, Keith Whelan, Clay Metzger and Tim Dobbelare — took fourth in the championship flight, with a 12-under 60.
The Environmental Products team of Jeff Viox, Aron Kerr, Richard Dix and Adam Ferguson was tops in the “A” Flight with an 8-under 64.
The Better Hearing Solutions foursome of David Call, Jason Papek, Harry Casten and Jason Weiss placed second (7-under 65).
Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital No. 2 (Rod Scherer, Ken Huck, Tim Hotop and Jim Donato) took third with a 6-under 66, and the Dew Drop was fourth (5-under 67). The Dew Drop team featured Cara Naeger, Eric Clements and Kyle Wells.
The top-two teams in each flight received payouts.
BackStoppers, Inc. Tournament Sept. 17
ZELL — Ste. Genevieve Golf Club will be a happening place during the month of September, with four major tournaments on the card.
The BackStoppers, Inc., tournament is set for Sept. 17, with proceeds benefitting an organization dedicated toward law enforcement, fire department and emergency management personnel.
