Sulser Places High At AAU Nationals
FROM STAFF REPORTS
HOUSTON — Six Ste. Genevieve Stingray swimmers wrapped up the summer season at the Amateur Athletic Union Junior Olympic Games.
The meet took place from July 29-Aug. 2 at Cy-Fair Natatorium, which primarily serves as an indoor high school facility.
The six swimmers were Hailey Weibrecht, Brooklyn Weibrecht, Addison Weibrecht, Dane Evelsizer, Reese Evelsizer and Elizabeth Sulser.
Elizabeth Sulser had the Stingrays’ best showing; however, the most important thing was making a memory competing at one of best swim centers in Texas.
The Stingrays competed as members of the Southeast Missouri Swim Conference, which featured competitors from other teams from Poplar Bluff, Farmington, Perryville, River City (Cape Girardeau), Kennett and Charleston.
Complete results, with times, accompany this story.
The Stingrays’ 2021-22 season begins with tryouts at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 22, at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center indoor pool.
