R-II Taking Survey On Opening School Year

From Staff Reports

The Ste. Genevieve R-II School District is currently seeking feedback through a quick survey marking the beginning of the 2021-22 school year.

Amidst changing guidance from the Centers for Disease Control, the district aims to reach out to families, students, faculty and community for feedback.

Along with recommendations from the CDC and the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, the district will consider local conditions and survey feedback when making decisions.

Surveys must be completed by 5 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 6.

The school district is working on its 2021-22 reopening plan, which will be shared with families the week of Aug. 9.

“We expect this plan to continuously evolve and adapt as further guidance becomes available throughout the school year,” said the district on its Facebook page.

Keep in mind, regardless of the district’s decision on face coverings in the school setting, face coverings will be required on school buses – per a federal order issued by the CDC.

In accordance with the CDC and Ste. Genevieve County Health Department, unvaccinated individuals who come in close contact with positive COVID-19 cases must quarantine – unless both individuals were wearing face coverings.

Vaccinated individuals who come in contact with a positive COVID-19 case are not required to quarantine provided he or she remains without symptoms.
