Stingrays Earn 4th At SMSC Champs

KENNETT — The Ste. Genevieve Stingrays summer swim club wrapped up the season with the Southeast Missouri Swim Conference championships.

The Stingrays were fourth overall; however, they were second among small clubs, in the meet that took place at the Sheryl Crow Aquatic Center.

Results may be found in agate in this edition of the Ste. Genevieve Herald.

The team had its awards ceremony on Monday evening at the Progress Sports Complex.

Several swimmers have qualified for the AAU Junior Olympics: Liz Sulser, Matt Hoog, Noah Mittermeyer, Kahsu Mittermeyer, Emma Mittermeyer, Brooklyn Weibrecht, Addison Weibrecht, Hailey Weibrecht, Seth Wehner, Chloe Wehner, Reese Evelsizer and Dane Evelsizer.

The AAU Junior Olympics take place in the Houston metro area the July 29-Aug. 1.

Tryouts for the 2022 season will take place at 6 p.m. on Sept. 22 at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center. Practices will then be on Mondays and Wednesdays from 3:30-5 p.m.
