Motorsports To Take Center Stage

There will be plenty of sporting events on display during this week’s Ste. Genevieve County Fair.
It all begins with racing — starting at 6:30 p.m. Thursday.
Pits open at 4 p.m., followed by hot laps at 5:30 p.m. The winner will receive $300.
Classes include 212 Flat Karts, 206 Karts, Outlaw Karts and racing lawnmowers. The pit fee is $15, and $20 per driver.
The grandstand opens at 5 p.m., with admission $15 for a pit pass, $10 general admission, $5 children (ages 5-11) and children four years old and younger admitted free.
During Friday’s slate, there will be Victory Lane at 5 p.m. as well as a truck pull in the main arena at 7 p.m.
On Saturday, competition begins at 10 a.m. with a keg toss. There also is an antique tractor and gas engine expo all day.
Victory Lane racing continues at 5 p.m., with a demolition derby and power wheels contest at the same time in the main arena.
TRUCK PULL
The truck pull will feature factory stock and street stock gas- and diesel-powered equipment. There will be gas versus gas and diesel versus diesel pulls, and an open class.
A pit pass costs $15, with adult general admission for $10, children are admitted at $5 each.
Children ages four years old and under are admitted free, but must be accompanied by a guardian.
The weigh-in begins at 5:30 p.m. in the pit area.
