Bethany Bequette, Former Boomsdale Teacher, Dies At 23

Bethany Sue Bequette, who spent most of the 2020-21 school year as a first grade teacher at Bloomsdale Elementary, died on July 3. She was 23.
Bequette had previously worked at the Ste. Genevieve County Community Center (SGCCC).
“The Ste. Genevieve R-II family suffered the loss of a vibrant educator and spirited alumna, Bethany Bequette,” R-II superintendent Dr. Julie Flieg said. “As anyone who has met Bethany would know, she brought so many smiles to those around her with her contagious laugh and upbeat attitude. Bethany’s kind spirit, the joy that she found in everything, and her wonderful sense of humor will greatly be missed by all of us. Our thoughts, hearts and prayers are with Terry, Jerri, Bre, Leo, Brittany, Corey and Bethany’s friends and extended family members as they deal with this tremendous loss.”
“We are all saddened by the loss of Bethany and blessed for the time she gave us at the community center,” said SGCCC director Brad Arnold. “We will miss her smile, endless laughs and amazing stories.”
