Juniors, Freshmen Fare Well

SIKESTON — Both the Ste. Genevieve American Legion Post No. 150 juniors and freshmen competed at the Sikeston Tournament this past weekend.
The teams even squared off against each other, with the juniors coming out on top.
In the end, the juniors finished second while the freshmen group was third overall.
Here are the box scores for all three Post No. 150 teams for the week.

Highlights: Austin Burnett was a perfect 3-for-3 at the plate, which included a double. Keaton Boyer and Drew Bauman also doubled for the winners. Nathan Selby earned the win, allowing three earned runs on five hits while striking out three in a 65-pitch performance. Josh Bieser, Aiden Boyer and Bauman all produced two RBI.

Highlights: Zach Boyer smacked a home run and drove in three runs while Jayden Gegg was 2-for-2 and Josh Bieser 3-for-4. Austin Burnett scored three times and Gegg and Bieser twice. Aiden Boyer added a triple. Zach Boyer was the winning pitcher of record, striking out two while working 1-1/3 innings.
