Edward F. Schmelzle

Edward F. Schmelzle, 80 years old, of Sainte Genevieve, MO, died Wednesday, May 12, 2021 at the Ste. Gen Care Center.

He was born September 13, 1940 in Ste. Genevieve, MO and was married to Judith A. Schmelzle (Statler) on September 20, 1969.

He is survived  by Wife, Judith A. Schmelzle (Statler) of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Sister-in-law, Janet Schmelzle of Sainte Genevieve, MO; Nieces and Nephews: David (Shellie) J. Schmelzle of Ste. Genevieve, MO; Mary (Robert) Grimes of Beaverton, OR; Jean (Jay) Kochell of Carmel, IN.; Granddaughter: Sara L. Schmelzle; Great-Grandchildren: Alyson, Nicholas, Austin, and Mariah.

He was preceded in death by Son, Morris D. Schmelzle; Mother, Rose Kirchner; Father, Joseph Schmelzle; Two Brothers, Joseph L. Schmelzle, Michael L. Schmelzle; Sister-in-law, Rose Schmelzle;

Visitation will be at Church of Ste. Genevieve in Sainte Genevieve, MO on Monday, May 24, 2021 from 9:00 am till 11:00 am

Service will be at Church of Ste. Genevieve on Monday, May 24, 2021 at 11:00 am. The Clergy will be Rev. Edward Nemeth.

Burial will be at Valle Spring Cemetery. Military services performed by VFW Post 2210

In Lieu of Flowers memorials can be made out to St. Vincent DePaul Society of Ste. Genevieve, Salvation Army of Ste. Genevieve, or Crown Hospice.

Ed was a member of the American Legion and K of C. Volunteered for St. Vincent DePaul, Ste. Gen Care Center, Riverview at the Park, Am. Heart Hospice and Preferred Hospice.

Ed enjoyed traveling and visited 35 states from Alaska to Hawaii to Florida to Maine and every spot in between. He traveled to The Yukon, Nova Scotia, Cape Breton and Prince Edward Island Canada.

He loved his family, all his dogs, and a few cats. He was an avid Cardinals Fan, loved fishing, and a faithful and devout person of his faith.
