Mayford Charles Warren
Mayford Charles Warren, age 92 of St. Louis, MO., died May 3, 2021 at the Veteran’s Home in St. James, MO.
Mayford was born March 3, 1929 in Ste. Genevieve, MO., son of Alonzo M. Warren and Hazel R. (Cox) Warren, and was step-son of Louis E. Vessell. He and Norma Jean Wagner were married May 12, 1951 at Marble Hill, Mo.
Survivors include his wife; son Stuart R. Warren and wife Catherine (Kate) S. Krause of McAllen, TX; daughter Rebecca A. Warren and husband Richard D. Arnold of St. Louis, MO; step-sister Patricia A. Nacci of Fairview Heights, Ill; granddaughters Linnea K. (Warren) May, and husband Jerry D. May of Pittsburgh, PA; Olivia K. (Warren) Phillips and husband Weston J. Phillips of Pittsburgh, PA. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister (Gloria June Lucas of Glen Allen, MO.) and stepfather.
He entered the U.S. Army in 1951 during the Korean War as a special agent in the Counter Intelligence Corp.
He attended and graduated from Southeast Mo. University (B.S), Vanderbilt University (M.A) and St. Louis University (Ph.D). He was a teacher and Administrator for 27 years in the Webster Groves School District, St. Louis, Mo. After his retirement he worked as a Commercial Real Estate Broker. He was a member of Lynwood Baptist Church in Cape Girardeau, MO.
Family and friends will deeply miss him. There will be a graveside service at Crestlawn Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve, MO., on Friday, May 7, 2021 at 12:00 noon.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Gideons International or the Alzheimer’s Association.
