GRANDVIEW — Valle Catholic’s Ade Weiler sparked a rally last Thursday with a two-run home run in the fifth inning as the Warriors defeated Grandview, 8-4.

“That was a fun big win for us,” said Valle Catholic head coach Kurt Basler of the Warriors, one day removed from the Mineral Area Activities Association conference tournament.

“We made good contact the whole game, but hit it right at them,” Basler said, “finally in the seventh, the hits started falling.”

Mia Weiler also played well for the Warriors, earning the win inside the circle and she smacked a bases-clearing triple in the seventh inning to put Valle Catholic ahead during a five-run frame.

Ade Weiler finished the game going 3-for-3 with three runs scored, and Macy Wolk contributed a 2-for-3 hitting performance.

Mia Weiler allowed four runs (two earned) on six hits while the Warrior defense committed just two errors.

At the MAAA Tournament, Valle Catholic was relegated to the consolation bracket after a 16-1 loss to Park Hills Central. Kingston forfeited to Valle Catholic last Wednesday, and the Warriors agreed to play Arcadia Valley (a 9-5 loss).
