Both 2020 and 2021 honors were handed out at the 97th Annual Ste. Genevieve Chamber of Commerce Gala last Friday night at the DuBourg Centre.
In addition to the usual awards, chamber executive director Dena Kreitler was surprised with a special award for her 20 years of work in leading the chamber.
For 2020, the Small Business of the Year Award went to the former Loida Ag Service, while the Community Service award went to Brad Arnold, Ste. Genevieve County Community Center executive director, and the Lifetime Achievement Award to former Ste. Genevieve County Memorial Hospital (SGCMH) CEO Tom Keim.
For 2021, Small Business of the Year went to the Dew Drop in Bloomsdale, the Community Service Award to an anonymous individual, and the Lifetime Achievement Award to Rita Brumfield, longtime director of nursing at SGCMH.
The Presidential Award, given by outgoing president Jason Blum, went to the Ste. Genevieve County Health Department.
Blum then turned leadership over to incoming president Therese Gegg.
