Dragon Golf Underway

From STAFF REPORTS

Like all other spring sports, it’s been 22 months since boys’ golf has been part of the athletics landscape.

The Ste. Genevieve High School boys’ golf team opened the regular season with a home triangular on Monday versus Windsor and St. Pius X.

The home cooking continues at 3:30 p.m. today with a triangular against St. Vincent and Perryville at Ste. Genevieve Golf Club.

Ste. Genevieve’s varsity players will head to Dalhousie Golf Club in Cape Girardeau for the Cape Notre Dame Invitational next Monday. The junior varsity squad competes in Windsor on the same day.

SOFTBALL

Softball also opened up on Monday, with Ste. Genevieve at Potosi in Mineral Area Activities Association Large School Division play and Valle Catholic was home for MAAA Small School Division foe Kingston.

Valle Catholic will play host to division rival Arcadia Valley today at Challenger Field while Ste. Genevieve entertains West County at Leon’s Field.

Both teams remain home on Thursday with Crystal City at Valle Catholic and Bismarck visits Ste. Genevieve.

Ste. Genevieve R-II School District athletic director Dr. Jeff Nix reported the Dragons added a road game at Valley Park for this Saturday — with a noon start time.

See upcoming baseball and track and field schedule updates in those corresponding stories in this week’s edition of the Ste. Genevieve Herald.
