Candidate Zoom Forum Will Be Held March 23
FROM STAFF REPORTS
The Herald will co-host a live virtual candidate forum with the University of Missouri Extension Service next Tuesday, March 23.
The forum will be in two parts.
At 6 p.m. Ste. Genevieve Board of Aldermen candidates Susie Johnson (incumbent) and Amie Dobbs (challenger) will take part. Dobbs is challenging Johnson for her Ward 1 seat.
At 6:30 p.m., R-II School Board candidates will square off. There are five candidates for two positions.
Current board president David Bova will face challengers Lawrence Pfaff Jr., Jamie Naeger Ballew, John Carlisle and retired Ste. Genevieve Elementary principal Geri Diesel. Current vice president Joan Huck’s term is also ending, but she did not file for reelection. This was reported incorrectly in the March 17 print edition.
Details on how to log into the event live will appear on the University Extension website and Facebook page, as well as the Herald Facebook page and on Twitter.
The Herald will preview the election in next week’s edition.
Extension engagement specialist Estrella Carmona and Herald editor Mark Evans will again moderate the virtual forum.
