Valle Falls To Arcadia

Arcadia Valley’s Gracee Smith paced all scorers with 29 points as the Tigers defeated host Valle Catholic, 49-35, last Thursday in Ste. Genevieve.
Smith powered the Tigers with three 3-pointers, and she was a spotless 8-for-8 from the free-throw line in this Mineral Area Activities Association Small School Division tilt.
Meanwhile, Hannah Fowler was the lone Valle Catholic player to score in double figures with 14 points.
Fowler also grabbed a game-high 16 rebounds for a double-double, and she also had two steals.
Valle Catholic was down just four points after one quarter (13-9), however Arcadia Valley increased its lead to 27-17 by intermission.
The Warriors trimmed the Tigers’ lead to 32-26 after three, but then Arcadia Valley pulled away thanks to a 23 free-throw attempts.
Ade Weiler was tops for Valle Catholic in steals and assists with seven and four, respectively, while contributing six points. Sam Loida added six points, four rebounds and three assists.
Bryna Blum also scored six points to go with three rebounds and two steals.
The Warriors dropped to 7-11 on the season.
