Gerald R. Becker, 76, of Bloomsdale, passed away on Jan 11, 2021. A Navy veteran, Gerald served his country from 1964 to 1968, marrying his wife, Marilyn at the beginning of his enlistment in 1964. He and Marilyn were married for 51 years.
Gerald loved animals, being outdoors and working with his hands His children and grandchildren proudly display many of his beautiful woodworking products in their home. He was soft spoken and a man of few words, however, those closest to him found great hilarity in his dry sense of humor. When a nurse would ask how he was feeling he would often remark “ with my fingers, how do you feel?”
Gerald was preceded in death by Marilyn, his parents, Newton and Lois Becker, sister, Frances Boyer, brothers Russell Mattison, Newton Jr, Lilburn and Chester Becker, as well as son-in-law David Moore. He is survived by sisters , Virginia Williams and Sharon Vasquez; daughters Jane (Tom) Fischer, Tracy Moore and Tammy Pellerin; grandchildren Joshua (Becky), Caleb and Maleah Fischer, Chrisi (Kyle) Heinrich, Elijah Pellerin, Alison and John Lanning; great grandchildren, Matthew and Elizabeth Fischer.
In adherence with his wishes, there will be no public service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks for memorials to be made to Crown Hospice.
