Ste. Gen Duals Saturday

Area high school wrestling teams will descend upon the city for the 10th Annual Ste. Genevieve Duals this Saturday.

The tournament will take place in the confines of Peggy J. Johnson Gymnasium, with three mats going simultaneously.

Participating teams are: Ste. Genevieve, Valle Catholic, Dexter, Windsor, Mehlville and Owensville.

Weigh-ins will take place at 8 a.m. Saturday in the downstairs wrestling room. Competitors must make scratch weight unless he participated in a dual the night before.

Tournament matches will then begin at 9:30 a.m.

Plaques will be given to the first- and second-place teams, with dual meet scoring in effect. The criteria will begin with record, and second, team points scored.

Admission is $3 for adults and $2 for students.

The concession stand will available throughout the tournament for snacks and beverages.

The tournament will use the trackwrestling.com web service for the scoring of all matches.

During the ongoing COVID-19 (coronavirus) pandemic, the Ste. Genevieve R-II school district has enacted spectator guidelines.

Masks will be required entering the building, during transition times and when spectators are seated in groups.

Families are urged to sit together and socially distance from others. For this tournament, each wrestler and coach will be granted two spectators, and athletic departments received a Google-based document to enter a pass list.
